I am working on a TeX project to create PDF letter charts for children for alphabet learning. I was using pdfTeX initially, then switched to XeTeX due to OpenType and TrueType font support. The project employs a macro-based, modular structure to make adding support for a new language a bliss.

The main challenge seems to be the legal problem of how to reconcile all the different image license types.
